What is blepharoplasty?
Blepharoplasty is a cosmetic surgery that corrects excess skin, fat, or sagging in the upper and lower eyelids. It is indicated both to improve the tired or aged appearance of the eyes and to widen the visual field when drooping eyelids interfere with vision.
It is a highly requested procedure for people who wish to regain a more open, rested, and youthful gaze, without altering their essence or their natural expression.
At COLSURGERIES, each procedure is personalized according to your facial features, age, and goals. Our priority is for you to feel confident, comfortable, and accompanied at every stage.

How is it performed?
The surgery can be performed with local anesthesia and sedation or with general anesthesia, depending on the surgical plan. Its duration is approximately 1 to 2 hours, and it is an outpatient procedure.
Depending on your needs, the following can be performed:

Upper blepharoplasty
To remove skin or fat from the upper eyelids.

Lower blepharoplasty
To eliminate or reposition fat bags under the eyes and treat skin sagging.
The incisions are located in natural creases or inside the eyelid, so the scars are practically invisible once healed.
This procedure can be performed alone or in combination with others, such as a facial lift, bichectomy, or non-surgical rejuvenation treatments.

Blepharoplasty - Recovery
The initial recovery is usually very well tolerated. It is normal to have mild swelling, a feeling of tension in the eyelids, and small bruises during the first few days.
We recommend applying cold compresses, keeping visual rest, and following a light routine for the first 5 to 7 days.
Starting from the second week, most patients can already resume their usual activities, and in 3 to 4 weeks, the results become increasingly evident.
At COLSURGERIES, we accompany your medical progress with in-person check-ups during your stay in Medellín and virtual follow-up when you return to your country.
